Facts about the flag of Thailand
Date adopted: 28 September 1917
Symbolism: The flag of Thailand, also known as the 'Tri-Color Flag', consists of five horizontal stripes in the colors red, white, blue, white, and red. The red stripes represent the land and people, the white stripes symbolize religion, and the blue stripe stands for the monarchy.
- Pantone colours: PMS 193 C, White, PMS 286 C
- Aspect ratio: 2 : 3
- Hanging protocol: The flag is typically hung with the red stripe at the top when displayed vertically, and the blue stripe in the center horizontally.
- Design pitfall: A common mistake is confusing the order of the stripes or the width proportions, especially mixing up the central blue stripe's width which is twice as wide as the other stripes.
