Facts about the flag of Singapore
Date adopted: 3 December 1959
Designer: Committee led by Toh Chin Chye
Symbolism: The red color symbolizes universal brotherhood and equality of man, while the white represents pervading and everlasting purity and virtue. The crescent moon signifies a young nation on the ascendant, and the five stars stand for democracy, peace, progress, justice, and equality.
