Facts about the flag of Bangladesh
Date adopted: 17 January 1972
Designer: Quamrul Hassan
Symbolism: The green field symbolizes the lushness of the land of Bangladesh, and the red disc represents the blood of those who died in the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War.
- Pantone colours: Pantone 3435 C, Pantone 186 C
- Aspect ratio: 3 : 2
- Hanging protocol: The flag of Bangladesh is typically hung with the red circle slightly off-center towards the hoist side on a green field.
